Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Texas Poker Club members only?
Yes. The Texas Poker Club is strictly membership based whether for individuals, groups, charity outings, or corporate outings. Memberships are available in daily, monthly, and yearly options. Current Membership pricing is $10 per day, $75 per month, or $500 per year, or $1,500 lifetime. There is a one time $5 membership activation fee.

How does The Texas Poker Club charge for club access?
Members must pay a check in fee of $2 upon entering the club. Once Members are checked in, they have access to any/all of the amenities and activities. Members must pay seat rental fees each visit. The current rate is $10/hour.

Why do I have to check in just to watch TV or hang out?
To protect our status as a private club, The Texas Poker Club must consistently manage access to the club for all Members. This means every member must check in and pay hourly club access fees each time they visit. This is important because Texas law requires any poker games to be played in a private setting. This is the most effective way for The Texas Poker Club to be in compliance to properly maintain our private status.

How are my hourly Club Access Fees determined?
Members must pay to rent a seat when in the club.  The cost of seat rental is currently $10/ hr.  The fee is paid in $5 increments every half hour a player rents a seat.

Why don't you charge a flat fee for poker tournaments?
Texas law expressly prohibits any direct costs for activities involving gambling.  A fee to play in a poker tournament doesn't fit within the realm of legality.  The Texas Poker Club has absolutely zero economic participation in any gambling fees, odds, wagers, proceeds, rakes, commissions, etc. Whether you play in a $100 tournament or a $1,000,000 tournament at The Texas Poker Club, you only pay for your Membership and Club Access. All money, in all tournaments is paid out 100% to tournament participants. These processes and policies are designed to keep The Texas Poker Club house compliant with state law.

How do I become a Member?
Simply fill out a Membership Application, which grants you provisional membership, and pay the dues for the term of your choice (daily, monthly, yearly, lifetime). Once per month the Texas Poker Club Membership Committee meets and reviews provisional members and makes a recommendation to approve or deny permanent membership status.

Can my Membership be revoked?
Yes. The Membership Committee and Management can choose to revoke Memberships for violation of Club Rules, violations of the club's Code of Conduct, breaches of etiquette, non-payment of dues or fees, review of criminal background checks or other reasons.
